1st European Green Festival of Traditional Wrestling Sports.  \\  8-5-2007

In Istanbul / Turkey ended successfully 1st European Green Festival of Traditional Wrestling Sports. Special gusts in the Festival were: Mr. Paul Hoglund, GAISF DC board member, President Ju-Jitsu International Federation (Sweden), Mr. Y.K. Basharan, Deputy Director, General Directorate for Youth and Sport, President European Association of Traditional Wrestling Sports (Turkey); Mr. Yves Sagou, official UNESCO representative unit for physical education and sport (France); Mr. Shamil Khisamutdinov, Olympic Champion in Greco-Roman wrestling (Russia).
More then hundred twenty participants’ from twenty European countries take part in this Spring Celebration. It was first time when the results were published online on the website. Full information you can found on festival website: http://www.wftws.org/egf1/.
Next day, all participants together with students from Atakoy / Istanbul regional school, UNESCO representative, chair persons’ from Istanbul Sport Department, representative from General Directorate for Youth and Sport (Turkey), Media representative take part in tree planting under “Plant for the Planet” UNEP Billion Tree Campaign. Total was planted 250 trees near new Olympic Stadium.
International Association of Traditional Wrestling Sports together with International Belt Wrestling Association becomes first International Sport Organizations which include environment and environment protection in sport activities.
