The Belt Wrestling could be included into the program of Summer Student Games in 2013 to be held in Kazan, Russia  \\  31-5-2008

On May, 31 Kazan won the right to hold the XXVII Summer World Student Games; 20 out of 27 Executive Members of the International Federation of Student Sports (FISU) in Brussels voted for the capital of Tatarstan (Russia Federation), giving it preference over the Spanish city of Vigo and South Korean city of Gwangju.
"The World Student Games will be consisted of the following compulsory programs, which includes 13 sports – track and field athletics, basketball, football, volleyball, fencing, water polo, swimming, tennis and others. According to the rules of FISU, the country which holds the World Student Games may declare the several additional sports", – reported Mr Bariev during the press conference at the airport soon after his return from Brussels. "We announced that at the World Student Games in Kazan, along with such sports as bench-top shooting, weightlifting, boxing, field hockey and boar-racing we declared that the belt wrestling to be included".
The World Student Games is a world student sport competitions, the second in its assessment after the Olympic Games. In Russian history the World Student Games (since 1923) was held only once – in summer 1973 in Moscow.
